As many of you may already know, Integra Información y Comunicación, S.L. (Integra) has completely renewed its email infrastructure, upgrading the mail server version to Exchange 2019. We have taken the opportunity to replace the current machines with more powerful and higher capacity machines.
For the replacement and migration of the system, it has not been necessary to interrupt the service, nor has it required any action or change in the configuration of their mailbox. We have taken advantage of this upgrade to double the capacity of each mailbox.
Some users have shown interest in knowing some features and configuration possibilities and their differences. In this article, we will explain what the differences are and how the POP3, IMAP and Exchange protocols work, their pros and cons, and we will conclude with the recommended option from Integra.
IMAP allows several clients to access the same mailbox, since the mail messages, in addition to being stored on the local computer, are kept on the mail server. This feature allows messages to be consulted via the web at any time.
