In an interview with Europa Press, the spokesman for the group ‘First anniversary of the Croat user community’ and activist for the dissemination of the currency, Josep Lluís Martínez, explained that the currency is in very good health and is prepared to survive in the distant future: «Everything points to the success we are working for».
Like the creator of Bitcoin, who has remained anonymous under the name of Satoshi Nakamoto since the birth of the currency (2009), the developers of Croat do not want, for the moment, to reveal their identity, so they have delegated their representation to an ambassador, Gerard Duelo.
Martínez explains that the idea of the Croat seduced him because of its global and Catalan vocation at the same time, and also because of the alternative economy that the use of cryptocurrencies implies: «I was interested because the world is evolving, and banking is having problems».
«What has been proven is that in times of crisis, the inflationary process in emerging countries, which are the ones that rely more on cryptocurrencies, does not suffer so much. We have to protect ourselves from whatever comes,» he reasoned.
FC Barcelona has signed a new global sponsorship agreement with blockchain services company Chiliz. A partnership that will allow Barça fans to interact with the Club in an innovative way through Socios.com, Chiliz’s voting platform, where Barça fans around the world will be able to participate in polls and surveys on different day-to-day activities of the Club using a series of digital assets called ‘Barça Fan Tokens’.
Fans will be able to purchase Barça Fan Tokens through a process called Fan Token Offering (FTOTM), or they will also be able to capture these digital assets periodically and for free through the Token Hunt function, the platform’s augmented reality system. Fans will also be able to capture the platform’s digital currency, Chiliz $CHZ, through this system.
This new agreement, the first signed by FC Barcelona in the field of blockchain, has been made official with a ceremony at the Camp Nou in which Josep Pont, the manager responsible for the Commercial Area of FC Barcelona, and Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz, took part. On the occasion of the meeting, the FC Barcelona executive handed over the 2019/20 season jersey to the Chiliz representative.

When it comes to gambling, there are dozens of established websites that accept a wide range of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Dogecoin (DOGE), Tether (USDT), Ethereum (ETH) and more. There are many options out there and it’s just a matter of which platform a person decides to use in the end.
Needless to say, several betting sites now offer their users numerous side bets, another facet of online betting that cryptocurrency fans can participate in. For example, the odds for Italy to come out of the tournament as the top-scoring team are currently 10/11. While for England, the figure is quite a bit lower at 10/1.
Here’s a quick summation of the transfer values of the (likely) eleven starting players for both teams participating in the final, just to see how much Bitcoin the money can buy.
This brings the total valuation of the two teams to a staggering EUR 981 million (approximately USD 1.2 billion). At the time of writing, that’s about 35,800 BTC that can be purchased with the aforementioned sum.
